1. What is Afroscholars?

Ans: Afroscholars.com is a scholarship information Web portal, it’s all the information you require in one location. Making it your one stop shop to accurate and viable scholarship information, specifically targeted at Africans to study abroad.

2. How can Afroscholars help me?

Ans: The first step in gaining a Scholarship to study abroad is learning of its existence. Afroscholars.com provides you with that essential first step.

3. Where do I start?

Ans: The first step to benefiting from Afroscholars, is to register at the Site.

4. How do I register?

Ans: To register navigate to www.afroscholars.com, on the Home page click on the “Register” button just below the “Login” button to the bottom right of your screen. An online registration form will load. Fill out the form, during which you will create a Username (be creative combine your first name with your last, add numbers to it, anything to make it unique and distinct as long as you remember it exactly as you created it). It’s important you pick a unique Username during registration, because if you pick one that already in use the system won’t accept it. If your registration is successful you will receive a message telling you so, be sure you see this message before you proceed.

5. What is a Username and how do I get one?

Ans: A Username is what identifies you on the Afroscholars system. A Username is required to make use of the Afroscholars Web portal. Usernames are created during the Afroscholars registration process. For guidance on how to register please see (4) above. Kindly note that your Yahoo, MSN or other e-mail Usernames will not work as Afroscholar Usernames.

6. How do I purchase PINs?

Ans: Afroscholars Pin Vouchers are available for purchase at selected UBA branches; any Tasty fried chicken outlet and various other distributors across the Federation. Visit “the Buy Pins” section of the Afroscholars.com portal for a full list of distribution points. You may also make use of the interactive “Distributor location finder” to aid you find a distributor near you. Pins may also be purchased online at Afroscholars.com with a Debit Card, simply click on the link in the “Buy Pins” section to launch the application. To obtain a Pin via SMS text the word “PIN” to 4023 (this service is for MTN subscribers only; a fee of N100 will be deducted from your balance).

7. How much do PIN codes cost and how long are they valid for?

Ans: Pins are available in the various denominations listed below
? N250 valid for 45mins.
? N550 valid for 120mins.
? N3000 valid for 3 months (Note this is the e-Learning Pin & not for Scholarship information access).
? N100 SMS Pin valid for 15mins (MTN subscribers only).

8. I have a PIN code what do I do with it?

Ans: PIN codes are used to gain access to fee paying sections of the Afroscholars portal, such as Scholarship search section. A Username - Pin code combination is required to log into these areas. Registration is prerequisite to login, so make sure you register before you attempt to login with your Pin code.

9. The digits in my PIN Voucher are not clear; what do I do?

Ans: Simply send an e-mail to feedback@afroscholars.com or call 01-8908268, explain the situation and supply the following details – PIN Voucher Batch and Serial numbers.

10. I cannot login; I keep getting an error message.

Ans: before you attempt to login make sure you have registered as a member of the Afroscholars community. For guidance on the registration process see (4). If you have registered and still experience difficulty, make sure you enter your Username and PIN code correctly and if the problem persists send a mail to feedback@afroscholars.com or call 01-8908268.

11. Does Afroscholars awards scholarships?

Ans: No, Afrosholars provides you with scholarship information and does not directly award any scholarships.

12. Where can I find the scholarship application forms?

Ans: Scholarship application forms are not hosted on the Afroscholars.com portal. They are available for download at the Website of the awarding Institution, so make use of the contact information provided and follow the link to the Website of the awarding Institution.

13. Will I have to write a test?

Ans: No, Afrosholars does not conduct any tests.

14. Can Afroscholars help me obtain a Visa?

Ans: Afrosholars does not provide Visa services, but provides a large resource of Visa information. This information can be accessed under our “Visa and Travel” section.
